Vaisakhi, is spring festival that is celebrated as Birth of Khalsa Panth/Sikhism. Khalsa Panth/Sikhism was born on 13th or 14th April 1699 where by on this day many sikhs and other people baptise and accept Sikhi, and commit to live their lives to the service of humanity and the spirit of equality and compassion.

The Father/founder of Khalsa Panth is Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mother of Khalsa Panth is Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.

There are 5K's or the article of faith that were established by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and worn by baptized Sikhs to indicate a Khalsa devotee's commitment; Kesh (uncut hair), Kara (a steel bracelet), Kanga (wooden comb), Kachhera (cotton underwear) and Kirpan (small sword)

Apart from Sikhs, vaisakhi is also celebrated by Hindus and other communities in India. However, Vaisakhi is generally celebrated all over the world in different ways.

Therefore, in the same way Dar Es Salaam Sikh Community celebrated 324th Vaisakhi by conducting Akhand Path (continuous, uninterrupted and unbroken recitation prayers of Guru Granth Sahib ji for 3 days), doing Sewa and Sewa of Nishan Sahib. On this day many people of different religions and communities joined with Sikh Community and celebrated Vaisakhi
