Two versions of this sizzling Fats Waller tune - the better known 1927 recording, and the lesser known 1928 recording made for Brunswick.
The 1927 recording is hotter, tighter, and much more spirited; the 1928 recording is slower, looser, and much more relaxed, but also much less precise. Could this be an example of Henderson's reported difficulties with rehearsing and preparing his orchestra after his debilitating 1928 car accident?
