They call it Village Banking in Northern Kenya and through the initiative women are getting empowered financially and bringing the much needed change in their communities.
The program provides an opportunity to members to access small loans at a very low interest rate which they use to start or improve their small businesses.
And as NTV’s Rose Wangui reports the banking system has turned out to be a life saver for many households in the county of Marsabit.
