So far, we’ve mentioned delta-8-thc and thc-o.
Today we are going to be talking about HHC, HHC-O, And HHC-P

HHC, or hexahydrocannabinol
First isolated in 1944 by adding hydrogen molecules to Delta 9 THC by an American chemist, so its basically a hydronated version of THC.
Hexahydrocannabinol is psychoactive and anecdotal evidence describes to be bit milder than Delta 9 in terms of its high or psychoactivity
We May or may not find hexahydrocannabinol in small amounts in hemp, However, most if not all commercial HHC is made from hemp-derived CBD in a lab through chemical processes – which is where it starts to get fuzzy for me as we will touch on later.

What Is HHC-O
HHC-O is a derivative of hexahydrocannabinol. More specifically, HHC-O is the acetylated version of HHC.
We have seen this with d9THC and THC-O. THC-O is the acetylated version of THC,
Adding the acetyl group, or the “O,” to THC increases its potency and makes its effects much stronger on the user.
Likewise, after adding the acetyl group to hexahydrocannbinol,
HHC-O is said to be more potent than regular HHC, by about 1.5-2x, which should greatly enhance the high.
Whats more, HHC-O is believed to be the closest thing to true Delta 9 THC – unfortunately I cannot confirm or deny this as I have no personal experience, so we will take their word for it.

What Is HHC-P?

HHC-P is Another hexahydrocannabinol derivative, although much less well known,
HHC-P is made by enhancing the structure of HHC’s carbon side chain, which changes the way in which it interacts with CB1 receptors.
More specifically, it adds 2 carbons to the normal 5 carbon side chain, making a 7-Carbon side chain
Adding to HHC’s side chain means that the cannabinoid binds to CB1 receptors up to 30 times more efficiently, leading to about 10 times the potency of HHC’s high. Which is very strong.
While there is not enough or any real evidence, HHC-P is estimated to be much stronger than Delta 9 THC.

The more manipulated or synthesized the compound is, the more dangerous it can get – Hear me out. Synthetic cannabinoids like spice, K2 – too much of these can actually kill you, whereas regular THC, theres not enough that could try to kill you.

Im not saying HCC-P is spice, but this leads me to my next question.

Are these cannabinoids safe?
The key to consuming safe hemp derived products is to research the brands specifically, to find out the type of testing and other safety requirements to ensure the highest quality products.

Remember, HHC doesn’t really occur in nature but is the product of a chemical reaction in a lab. The reagents they use and the conditions to allow these chemical reactions to occur often produce many residual harmful by products they need to be removed.

Its really hard to say which companies are doing this so unfortunately, I do not have any recommendations on specific products.
