Last year we added two Railroad tie retaining walls at the cabin. One at the upper parking area and one bordering the shed. Unfortunately, we had to get the ties from two different suppliers. One bundle was from Home Depot, and the other was from a speciality landscaper center, which resulted in mismatched color and a slight difference in size.
Join us as we demonstrate the use of Copper-Green's wood preservative to treat the railroad ties. It took two gallons of product to complete the task. Before we left two days after completing the project, I did notice a couple of the ties, would benefit from a second coat, due to their extreme fading. I would highly recommend that you have good ventilation or even better a mask, as the fumes are very strong and seem to linger for an extended period of time.
