The pouch is made of a heavy waterproof canvas material and features an elastic string top with a plastic slide clasp to hold the contents in the pouch, for example, a large radio or a water bottle. Since the material is water proof, but the pouch doesn't have a top, there is a small grommeted drain hole at the bottom of the pouch, in case water does get in the pouch. The two long straps on the back attach with snap buttons on the bottom and allow you to attach this bag to a belt. However, the main point of the design is so this can be attached to a tactical vest or backpack with MOLLE compatible webbing (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment). For proper attachment to molle webbing, the straps should be woven alternately through the webbing on the vest and the three rows of webbing on the back of the pouch. This attachment system is extremely secure and stable when properly used. Overall, the bag is well made, although the elastic cord ends on mine started to fray because they weren't sealed. Don't try to seal them with a flame, though, because the core of the string is rubber and will burn, not melt.
