This is Part 2 of a multi-part Series on installing new floors and inner sills into a Series 1 E-Type FHC (or OTS - same process...)
In Part 2, we weld the original tunnel panels to the new floors, then fit and weld in the new crossmember halves.
Here, we use our jig to ensure precise alignment of the panels and important pick up points - radius arm cups, reaction plate mounting holes, engine subframe mounting points, IRS mounts and rear chassis legs, etc. HOWEVER - you CAN accomplish this work - with this same level of precision - at home or in a shop - without the Jig. We did it this way for years - you just need to take your time, and do ALOT of measuring, squaring, and alignment. Doing it that way is a bit more difficult and much more time consuming, but with patience and care, you CAN do it!
