A crucial cheap tool for mechatronics; the rivet gun.

Описание: Introducing a simple tool that’s less common in a garage. It’s a gun for “threaded rivets” also known as nutsert, or rivet nut, or rivnut.

These pieces cost only about 5 cents each and add a secure threaded hole in any flat plate material. For an M5 screw, we drill a hole about 8mm (just enough to clear the outer diameter of the nut) and defense squeeze the tool to compress the nut against the plate for a permanent fixture.

I usually recommend a step drill for drilling holes and thin plates. Also, for beginners, you may choose a softer aluminum material for your rivet nut since the steel is quite strong. You need to hold the tool, steady and aligned while you squeeze so the threaded pin does not bend or
break.
