Earth Talk: Wild Nights Out with Chris Salisbury

Описание: Chris Salisbury reflects on the fruits of his 28 years guiding people along the wild trails into the mysteries and enchantments that lie in wait in the natural world. These experiences, his art and vocation formed to create his latest book, Wild Nights Out - The Magic of Exploring the Outdoors at Night, published in 2021.

In 1999, Chris founded WildWise after many years working as an education officer for Devon Wildlife Trust. He currently directs the acclaimed year-long outdoor education leadership programme Call of the Wild and Where the Wild Things Are – a rewilding adventure based at Embercombe in Devon.

As a professional storyteller with a background in theatre, a training in therapy and a career in environmental education, Chris uses every creative means at his disposal to encourage people to enjoy and value the natural world.

As well as sharing compelling passages about our cultural relationship to the dark, Chris will perform a story in the darkness to deepen our acquaintance with the night-time, nocturnal nature, and the mysteries of the night-sky. It's a potent recipe and should make for an informative and evocative evening.

Chris is married with four children and lives in enchantment on the edge of a forest in the Dart valley, Devon.
