「21st century education: Share your world」: Chiew Farn Chung at TEDxTitech

Описание: Chiew was born in Malaysia, spend his junior high days in Singapore, and subsequently went to high school and university in Canada. By attending local schools at each location, he has firsthand experience in how countries differ in the way they think and approach education.

Chiew keeps in touch with most the teachers who have taught and shaped him. One teacher showed him how to write his first computer program when he was 12, and by 15 he was representing Singapore for the International Computer Programming Competition. On a fast-track study program, he graduated at 20 years old with double honor degrees in Mathematics and also Computer Science.

After graduation, he started building large computer systems for Japanese based manufacturers and international banks. In 2010, he felt that advancement in technology and lifestyle is enabling people to explore their boundaries in education and knowledge exchange, and thus ClassDo was born.

マレーシアに生まれ、中学生時代をシンガポールで過ごし、その後はカナダの高校と大学に進学した。それぞれの地域で地元の学校に通うことで、教育に対する考え方や取り組みの違いを実感した。彼は彼を教え育ててきたほとんどの先生たちと関係を保っている。ある先生が１２歳の彼に初めてプログラミングの書き方を教えたことを機に、１５歳でシンガポールを代表し国際的なプログラミングコンテストに出場。英才教育を経て２０歳で数学とコンピューターサイエンスにおいてダブルディグリーを取得。卒業後は日本の製造業と国際銀行を中心とした大きなコンピュータシステムを立ち上げた。２０１０年には教育におけるインターネットの影響力に共鳴し、世界中の人々に知識・文化・技能などの交流の場を提供したいと願うエンジニアたちとともにClassDoを設立した。
