Andy Powers, Taylor Guitars' master luthier and CEO, recently launched a new project – an innovative retro-vibed electric guitar called the A-Type. Craft-built in a small workshop, the guitar is the first design to come out of his all-new guitar-making venture Powers Electric. As you'd expect from this forward-thinking luthier, the A-Type has many distinctive features that depart from the norm – from a sealed, semi-hollow construction to a custom-designed 'CamTail' vibrato, plastic parts crafted from colourful surfboard resin, unique pickups and more. Join demonstrators Richard Barrett and Jamie Dickson in Guitarist magazine's Tone Lounge to hear them put this labour-of-love instrument through its paces.
