Józef Sosnowski was an accordion player of Polish ancestry who recorded in Chicago in the late 1920s. His first recordings were in May of 1925 for the Okeh label, in a trio format with violinist J. Woźniak and clarinetist John Baczkowski. After these four instrumentals, Sosnowski continued the session by accompanying the prolifically recorded Polish baritone, Ignacy Ulatowski, on a set of four vocal selections. Over the next four years, Sosnowski participated in five more small group sessions for Columbia and Okeh, producing 25 recordings as “Sosnowski Trio” or “Orkiestra Józefa Sosnowskiego Z Milwaukee, Wis.”
