In Destiny the loot cave is supposed to be a way to get engrams and make your guardian more powerful but in reality it hurts your progress. The game has systems in place that will prevent the loot cave from being as effective but there are also better ways in the game to get engrams and legendary rewards. There are also faster ways to get exotics than the new loot cave. Weapons and armour will be easier to get without sitting in front of the loot cave for hours praying for one to drop.
