Inflation is the general increase in prices over time. And short of major market downturns it can be one of the biggest hurdles to achieving our financial goals in the long run. Thankfully, there's an investment that is specifically designed to protect us from sustained high levels of inflation: Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (or TIPS for short).
