The Impala Sport Coupe features a shortened roof line and wrap-over back window. Standard were front and rear armrests, an electric clock, dual sliding sun visors, and crank-operated front vent windows. A contoured hooded instrument panel holds dramatic deep-set gauges.

In 1960, Chevrolet offered 8 different engine options, with versions from the entry level 235 Inline 6 to a 283 V8, and 348 V8. For the performance power-minded buyer, the 348 V8 was definitely the way to go.

This 1960 Impala has the well-regarded "Super Turbo Thrust" V8 with three two-barrel carburetors. It's listed as 280 horsepower, 355 of torque, and compression ratio of 9.5:1. Everyone suspects there's a lot more HP in these 348ci engines. These motors cranked out some serious power.

The transmission is the cast-iron 4-speed and it shifts strong and smooth.

Our Impala was built in Los Angeles (code L in the VIN). It has beautiful Black paint (code 900) and a laser straight body. Take a look at the photos with the reflection coming back toward the camera. You'll see straight body panels.

The Black interior is a combination cloth and vinyl, and frankly more comfortable than most of the the cars in that era. Also, sound system is the Custom Auto-Sound brand radio, CD Changer and inputs for USB music player or phone.

The car stands strong on Series 08/61 S/S Cragar wheels. We're big fans of Roy Richter, who created this style in the 1960s. These unique and timeless wheels are the classics that started it all.
