Explanation about the dances:
Gorenjska is a region in the nortwest part of Slovenia. Dancers wear the characteristic national costumes from there, dated 2nd half of XIX century. The musicians play the accordion, clarinet and contrabass. Gorenjska is an alpine region with high mountains and narrow valleys. The dances from this region are facetious and proud: rhythmical knocks, quicks turns jumps and rollicking shouts of joy. These dances were usually danced on festivities and weddings.
Choreography: Brane Šmid
It consists in different dances, such as mazurka, Stajeris, Najkatolis, Sotos, Cerpele, Mrzorlin, wedding Polkas and funny folk songs. The boys are trying to conquer the girls with the dance and shouts of joy.
