U.S. President Joe Biden along with his G7 allies unveiled the ambitious Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII). The PGII is seen as the G7’s counter to China’s multi-trillion dollar Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The stated purpose of the PGII is to help secure funding for countries to build critical infrastructure such as roads, ports, bridges, communication setups, etc. to enhance global trade and cooperation
