3.47 (Former) World Record Clock Average! (ft. 2.97 OcR Single!)

Wow. What a day. I went into the day feeling great, doing tons of comp sims the night before with my brother and achieving solid averages. Controlling my nerves was the most important part, making sure my nerves didn’t get the better of me, and boy did it pay off. My second clock round of the year went very well, and I achieved a 3.80 OcR average in the morning, totally exceeding my expectations… then came clock finals.

I had no nerves going into clock finals thanks to the 3.80 average I set a few hours earlier, and I’m so happy I didn’t. First solve went great - 2.97 OcR single (sorry Richard), and the rest speaks for itself. Good turning, solid solving and a great reaction. Thanks to everyone who contributed to my success, and special thanks to Richard for always supporting me, THE LEWIS ROAD CREAMERY MILK (I drank a gulp before every solve) and my brother Esmond for being an awesome judge!!
