"It will not work", he said...: a geyser is AC and the solar panels is DC ", he said... And so I phoned someone else, just to be met with another in the same "stuck in a box" syndrome.
So I went ahead and did it myself...
Four years ago, my mother-in-law came to live with us. She has breathing issues and is assisted via an oxygen unit. She struggles to breathe every time the power fails (it is called load-shedding in our country).
To assist her with her problem, I installed some solar panels. However, I could only afford a basic system—not powerful enough to heat up our water geyser.
So, I made a plan and converted my old existing geyser to run directly from the same panels as the house's system without installing a "magic box", different panels or replacing the element and it does not steal energy and run from the battery or inverter, but directly from the panels.
