• The Battle: When these demons tried to harass Goddess Ambika, a fierce form emerged from her forehead—this was Maa Kali/Chamunda. She decapitated them and presented their heads to Ambika.
• The Name: Pleased by her bravery, Goddess Ambika declared that she would be worshipped as "Chamunda" henceforth.

• The Chotila Connection: Local folklore suggests that the hill was once the residence of the demons. The Goddess established herself on this peak to protect the people of the Panchal region from evil forces.
