In the bustling community of Solomio, Ruwa, not far from Harare, lives a humble 27-year-old whose name you probably haven’t heard before — but after today, you won’t forget it.

Descent Anthony Dzenga is his name. A soft-spoken, hardworking, and determined young Zimbabwean who turned a single idea into a powerful, life-changing project.

🎓 Descent holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) in 2024. But instead of walking straight into a tech job, he chose a path most would consider “off course” — he chose farming. And not just any farming — he’s raising rare, high-value Roadrunner breeds like:
🥚 Gold Laced Orpingtons
🐔 Light Sussex
🐓 Buff Orpingtons
🖤 Black Orpingtons
👑 Brahmas
...and more!

And guess what? This passion project actually paid his university tuition in full.
Yes — the chickens paid for the degree.

Back in 2016 or 2017, just after finishing A-Level, Descent couldn’t afford to go to university. While many gave up, he rolled up his sleeves and started keeping chickens. One bird led to two, two to ten... and soon, a thriving Roadrunner business was born.

💰 Today, he sells:

Fully grown special-breed birds (ranging from US$40 to US$145 each)

Chicks priced between US$3 and US$7

Fertile eggs to upcoming farmers - $10 / crate

Brooding services where he incubates and raises chicks for others

🌱 But it hasn’t all been smooth. He also ventured into rabbit farming and suffered a painful $3,000 loss when disease struck and wiped out nearly his entire stock. Today, only one rabbit remains. But guess what? He’s still standing. Still building. Still believing.

Because that’s what true farmers do. That’s what real builders do.
