‘Until The Day’ has been written in memory of Carl Cavanagh, the UK Firefighter who died tragically in October 2019 while competing in a triathlon, survived by his widow and young children. The backstory of this beautiful tribute attests just how much firefighters really look out for one another and each other’s families.

Following Carl’s death, one of his colleagues contacted acclaimed songwriter and producer Mick Lister (credits include working with Amy Winehouse and Cynthia Erivo) to ask if he would write a tribute song in memory of Carl. Mick not only agreed to this, but immediately offered all profits from digital releases and 50% of publishing as a heartfelt gesture to Carl's widow, to help with the inevitable financial hardships she will be facing as a single mother working as a Nurse.
Carl's colleagues set up a GoFundMe page that raised the funds to cover recording costs and Mick shared the story with some amazing musicians who all came on-board to help make the record a reality. Mick asked vocalist Steve Balsamo (Jesus Christ Superstar) to record the vocal to which he replied “it would be an honour.” The resulting vocal is emotionally authentic and sincerely heartfelt.

The track is available to purchase via download, and will be promoted worldwide to raise money to help Carl’s widow and her family in light of this tragedy.

Carl will never be replaced, and this song will encapsulate and eternalize the family’s precious memories with their husband and father. Your support will be eternally appreciated.
