In September 1987, Beechcraft 99 pilot Henry Dempsey was forced out of his aircraft when a hatch blew open during turbulence. He survived by gripping the door rails while the plane flew at 190 mph, head inches from the runway on landing. The incident was later recreated on Rescue 911.
