We walk on leashes,
Though we do not see them.
And we, like slaves,
Are drawn into a game for life…
Alas, we ourselves find
Those who agree to be slaves—
Clipping them on, we lead them,
Smashing their foreheads together…
And with a trump ace
We strike those lower in rank,
But… the leash is stubborn.
And in pain we lick
The callus of the slave-soul,
The shame of the free soul,
The brand of the prideful soul—
But… Life is not a gambling house!..
Freedom that does not wound
Either us or our “neighbors”—
Let it become the norm of life!
For is this not the will of the Almighty?
And a “neighbor” is everyone
Whom the Lord has granted the right,
Having known the thirst for Freedom
And the morals of egoism,
To become equal among the first
And first among equals…
Freedom is the principle of Brotherhood.
Be pleasing only to GOD!
Rule only over yourself!
And do not betray Freedom!!!
