In this new video, Paola Catizone explores an artwork by artist Jack B. Yeats titled 'Closing Time, Stephens Green' from our current exhibition IMMA Collection, Art as Agency. Paola invites your eyes to wander across the energetic strokes of the painted surface - exploring colour, temperature, technique and opening space for your imagination to interact with the figures, forms and story suggested by the composition.

This new series of Slow Art videos extends access to those who cannot visit in person and includes ISL, reflecting IMMA Horizons’ commitment to broader participation and inclusion in the arts. Slow Art creates space for participants to explore multiple perspectives, narratives and emotions, noticing how a work might appear to someone else and how their own lens shapes perception. Participants’ observations and insights contribute to the understanding of the artwork, making space for personal stories and recognising the richness that diverse perspectives bring.

Featured artists in this series includes Gerard Dillon, Jack B. Yeats, John Kindness, Vik Muniz, Robert Ballagh, Joan Jonas, Lucian Freud and Giorgio de Chirico. This Slow Art Series offers a moment of pause and an invitation to reflect, respond and enter into dialogue with the ideas held within the works.
