START THE JESUS DIET--STUDY CHRIST'S LAST WORDS

Описание: Jesus didn’t speak these words in REVELATION to us so that we could scan the newspapers looking to see who the false prophet will be, the beast, who the antichrist is, and how it’s all going to line up.

These last words are about, as the world gets darker, God’s people doing the good works that He’s preparing for us to do.

That’s what God calls bearing fruit. And Jesus wrote these last words to His church, not so that we could have an intellectual debate about it, but so that we could be fruitful and pleasing to God.

In Revelation 1, Jesus Christ introduces Himself to His church as the Great Physician, and in chapters 2-3, He systematically diagnoses His church. And now, at the end of every letter, He applies the same health warnings to us today.

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
If you were to visit the Great Physician today for a checkup, there are three things He would be concerned about.

First, God is vitally concerned about our diet. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” As important as a good diet is to your physical health, a healthy diet of God’s word is essential to your spiritual health, and God is vitally concerned about what we feed ourselves with.

You’ve heard of the South Beach diet or the Atkins diet, or whatever. Well, this verse, Matthew 4:4, is the Jesus diet. We eat the word to live. And Jesus says if you want to be healthy, eat the word to live. Look on it as diligently as you look on your physical diet. The Bible keeps us from sin, but sin also keeps us from the Bible. Anything that impedes or erodes your time with the Lord, you should be suspicious of that. God wants our souls fed regularly with the healthy nourishment of His word. And one of the clearest indicators of our spiritual health is our diet.
