Most of us write game logic using if statements - but what happens when true or false just isn’t enough?
In this video, we explore Scale Logic: a smarter way to handle game behaviors by using equations instead of hard switches. From scaling fall damage with velocity to jetpacks that respond fluidly to movement, you'll learn the concept that enables us to add depth, realism, and smoothness to our mechanics.
We’ll compare traditional Boolean logic to scalable systems, walk through real examples like Unreal Tournament’s Fatboy mutator, and show how to build smarter, more responsive code - all with simple math.
