In this interview, Professor Eran Halperin of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and co-investigator in the MORES Project explains how psychological tools can help people recognise, understand, and manage their emotional responses in politics.

Drawing from ongoing research on emotion regulation within MORES, Halperin and his team explore strategies such as cognitive reappraisal and psychological inoculation — methods that can reduce the power of manipulative, populist, and polarising messages.

The research, part of the Horizon Europe MORES project (Moral Emotions in Politics: How They Unite, How They Divide), aims to build emotional resilience and strengthen democratic debate.
