This course equips students with the essential knowledge and practical skills they need to succeed in their practice of Project Portfolio Management (PPM). The course materials have been part of the syllabus of the Masters of Business in IT Management (MBITM) Program at the University of Technology, Sydney since 2004.

In addition to lecture materials the course provides practical demonstrations of "how to do it" using both an industry leading PPM tool and build-your-own Excel tools and models which have been developed and proven in practice over many years.

Practical: Students will be provided with helpful and easy to use FREE templates and tools that they can take away with them and start using immediately. In addition, students will be provided with FREE online access to a "sandpit" instance of an industry leading PPM tool in order to practice the techniques covered in the lectures.

The course is self-paced but should take about 10 hours to complete. It consists of 5 lectures:

Portfolio Selection
Portfolio Monitoring and Controlling
Portfolio Governance
Portfolio Management Tools.
