You Won’t Believe This Beginner Fixed Pot Metal with Just a Torch and Super Alloy 1

Tawny is repairing a pot metal part with a missing section. Rare pot metal parts have been saved with the Super Alloy 1 rod and flux for over 35 years. Welding shops will tell you to throw that one-of-a-kind pot metal part in the trash as it's impossible to fix.

If you don't have the right tool for the job, then you can't repair the part. These days, pot metal parts are getting harder to find than ever. When you find the rare part, it will be in rough shape. Super Alloy 1 makes easy work of pot metal, as seen in MuggyWeld.com videos.

The part can be powder coated, painted, and chrome-plated after soldering. Super Alloy 1 can fill pitting, missing sections, build-out, build-up, solder steel to pot metal, fix cracks, fill large holes, etc. Remove the chrome before soldering. Always clean the pot metal just before repairing it. Pot metal can oxidize within hours of cleaning.

Clean the flux off of the rod before placing it back into the PVC tube.
