Svetski rekord u dužini trase pripada Gold gondoli Zlatibor (9 km), a pre zlatiborske gondole najduža svetska gondola bila je TianmenShan Cable Car gondola (7,4 km) koja se nalazi u sklopu Nacionalnog parka Zhangjiasie u Kini, u okviru kojeg je snimljen kultni film Avatar nagrađen oskarom reditelja Džejmsa Kamerona. Srce gondole nalaziće se na međustanici kod Ribničkog jezera, gde je planiran razvoj projekta Novi Zlatibor (turizam visoke kategorije, na preko 200 ha zemljišta), dok će završna stanica gondole biti na samom vrhu Tornik , na visini od 1496 m. Očekivanja su da se investicija u gondolu od 13 miliona evra vrati kroz deset godina kada se očekuje da Zlatibor postane najposećenija turistička destinacija u Srbiji i regionu sa 10 miliona noćenja godišnje i oko milion posetilaca. U saradnji sa renomiranim francuskim proizvođačem Kompanijom Pomagalski kompletna instalacija urađena je u skladu sa najvišim standardima zaštite životne sredine.
