About this video:
In this video I demonstrate the basic kihon techniques of Hanashiro Chomo's karate using the kokutu-dachi and shizentai dachi.
Early students first learn rooted footwork (UNSOKU) forms with use of mae-geri front kick and use of the legs to defend from kicks.
Also shown are ways of advancing with meote-uke in the chudan and gedan positions.
Meote-uke means 'husband and wife' hands and is used extensively in Hanashiro type karate.
