In this video I am going to present you three black paint Leica M2 cameras and three lenses:
Leitz Summicron 35mm f/2 8-element
Leitz Summicron 50mm f/2
Leitz Summilux 50mm f/1.4
The Leica M2 was introduced by Leitz in 1957 with serial number 926001 and was in production until around 1967 until serial number 1165000.
The majority was produced in Wetzlar, Germany, but a few chrome cameras, produced in Midland, Canada, exist.
The total production was around 76.000 units of which just around 2.450 have been made in black paint finish, mostly sold to professional photographers.
A few special versions have been made and I will try to show these in future videos.
