These strange light pillars appeared over western North Dakota on Jan 2, 2014 (5:45AM SMT). What are they???

Most "Down to Earth" hypotheses:

Hypothesis 1) Aurora Borealis + Light Pillars - an Aurora Borealis was in fact visible this morning due to a strong M9.9 solar flare originating from active sunspot AR1936 on Jan 1, 2014. This accounts for the northern lights that were observed (somewhat difficult to see in this video) - however the stationary illumination appeared to be a phenomenon commonly known as Light Pillars. These are created in cold atmospheric conditions by the reflection of light from ice crystals with horizontal parallel planar surfaces. The light source can be the Sun (usually low to the horizon), the Moon, or other terrestrial sources such as streetlights. This is a likely explanation as the ambient air temp this morning was -9 degF with a wind speed of only 0-1 mph.

Hypothesis 2) Aurora Borealis alone - with the highly active solar activity over the last couple days, this seems plausible, however the pillars remaining in a stationary position suggest hypothesis 1 more be more logical.

Hypothesis 3) HAARP! The most fun of all hypotheses, for sure, in which certain camouflaged men (and other highly educated individuals) operating their Nicola Tesla inspired HAARP equipment in Alaska are hitting their buttons to power up their antennae to manipulate the ionosphere inducing electromagnetic anomalies in an attempt to refine their skills for their upcoming rollout of Project Bluebeam in which they will cause "fire to come down from the heavens to be seen of men - to deceive those which are on the face of the earth" and thus create their own fake 2nd coming for their counterfeit Messiah to unite the world under the banner of the NWO and further enslave us all!

Although Rex does acknowledge the existence of the HAARP program, his gut tells him that these particular lights were in fact natural, meteorologically defined light pillars mixed with some natural aurora borealis which made them appear even more mysterious at first glance. Rex is not 'hating' on the Bluebeam crowd at all - but is just having a bit of fun, that's all. :-) Rex is well aware of Matthew 24 and the different scenarios that could take place to fulfill this, but these particular lights filmed this morning were most likely completely natural events.
