This is the Monkees recording of Goin' Down, slowed to 33 1/3 RPM, from the original 45 RPM single, with a bit of EQ and compressor to recover some lost dynamics.
I have been listening to this song at 33 1/3 RPM since getting the vinyl single (B side of Daydream Believer) as a 10 year old kid in 1973. I couldn't believe how awesome stuff sounded when played at the slower speed. I found others that suited the 33 1/3 treatment, but this one was always a stand-out. It suddenly had so much "groove" and feel to it. I have found it very hard to listen to it any other way ever since.
I have tried to sync the video to the slower speed of the audio, with adjustments to video speed every 10 second throughout this (now) 5+ minute epic. Although some drift is still evident, I got pretty close, so I'm happy enough with the result. It's better than a video of a record on a turntable anyway.
