Limonaire Band Organ, featuring The Redatzky March. This Organ song was used in the Martin Scorsese, Academy Award winning film, HUGO. (listen during the carousel scene in the movie -- and see ending credits). The beautiful facade was painted by local Artist, Jill Bradshaw.
Quick story: Martin Scorsese's producer had called asking for permission to record and use the song in the film. I said no problem.
Problem was, I couldn't find the music book with the other music books for the machine. I searched the entire Estate and a couple of days later, finally found the music book in an unmarked, and unopened box on a top shelf in the storage building. Whew!
If you've seen the film -- and you should -- my search was akin to the kids's search adventure in the film.
The film won 5 Academy Awards, and was nominated for Best Picture.
