How to Create a Modern Trap Drum Sound | Trap Production Basics in Cubase

Описание: In this video, YouTuber Venus Theory looks at sound design and music production in Steinberg Cubase, particularly making modern trap drum sounds. The kick drum is a standard e808 boom, manipulated in the sampler track with the amplitude envelope, low and high pass filters, the Quadrafuzz plug-in and EQ to make a great heavy drum sound. Layering sounds is a good way of building bass drums, but it is easy to take up a lot of low frequency headroom, so a bandpass filter can be used to get the sound you want. The video also looks at creating snare drum sounds in Groove Agent, using Layer mode and Selected mode to blend a mid-range sound with a shaker sound to bring life to it, preserving the transients and changing the ‘key on’ delay. For percussion, Venus Theory looks at using the piano roll in Cubase to create pitch roll effects, the phaser, flanger, auto pan and inbuilt guitar effects for shifting sounds to make them more interesting. Finally, the video examines using convolution reverb to create a new acoustic space for sounds with your own impulse responses, for a vocoder-like effect.
