Strip tillage offers many ecological and economic benefits to Kiwi farmers and contractors. By leaving a significant percentage of the ground unworked, it can provide the same yields with lower establishment costs and time inputs, but more importantly, increase the unworked soil’s structure and organic activity whilst being more precise with fertilizer placement at the same time. This system reduces erosion and compaction and retains moisture.
