One of Alison Balsom's musical ambitions is to widen the repertoire for her instrument, following in the footsteps of the great trumpet legend Maurice Andre. The new album showcases her beautifully pure trumpet sound, and includes popular favourites such as Bellini's Casta Diva, Mozart's 'Queen of the Night' aria, as well as sexy and edgy arrangements of works by Piazzola and de Falla.
