Gli aritzesi per molti secoli hanno basato la loro economia sullo sfruttamento dei prodotti della montagna e sull’utilizzo della neve.
Il documentario ci permette di conoscere una delle più belle pagine di storia economica della Sardegna mai documentata prima d’ora.
Grazie alle ricostruzioni filmate possiamo rivivere alcuni frammenti della vita passata e osservare uno degli aspetti più importanti ma meno conosciuti della cultura sarda, la storia della neve e dei “niargios”, gli uomini che la custodivano, la raccoglievano e la trasportavano in tutta l’isola dal 1600 al 1920 circa.
Il filmato mostra anche la lavorazione della carapigna e del torrone, mostrando nel dettaglio le antiche fasi della loro lavorazione.
Ci racconta anche alcuni aspetti della vita di Bachis Sulis, un personaggio che amava la cultura e raccontare storie d’amore e che, forse per le tristi vicende che segnarono la sua vita, fini per scrivere e tramandare i disagi della sua sofferta esistenza.
I contenuti, la fotografia e i testi molto curati rendono davvero molto bello questo documentario.

For many centuries, perched on the slopes of the highest mountain range on the island, has lived a community known for its generous and affable character, for being hardworking and creative, and for having contributed, together with the inhabitants of other mountain villages, to increasing the interest in this extraordinary land.
