We briefly owned this 2004 Audi B6 series S4 with a 4.2L V8 making approx 340hp. The stock exhaust didn't do this engine justice, so we had Competition Muffler YXE remove the resonators and added a set of Borla mufflers. No cross over, just true dual exhaust German style. The exhaust sounded mint...no drone, not too loud, just right. A neighbor of ours commented it sounded like a German Hot Rod. Here is a series of clips we put together of the startup, slow revs, blip and then drive away with this exhaust.
Excuse the video quality..this was taken back in 2010 era with a 3MP camera if memory serves me right. And excuse the nasty temporary rims this S4 rode on for a bit while sorting out offset and wheel type.
