Delhi Rain: Heavy Rains Trigger Waterlogging Across Delhi as Monsoon Intensifies

Описание: India's monsoon remains active across large parts of the country, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting widespread rainfall through August 13.

Delhi recorded its wettest day of the season on Friday after four consecutive days of rain. The capital received 127 mm of rainfall during the first seven days of August, making it the wettest first week of August in at least 16 years. Heavy showers caused widespread waterlogging across parts of South and Central Delhi, while rising water levels in the Yamuna prompted precautionary measures.

The IMD has also warned of flash-flood risks across parts of Haryana, Punjab and western Uttar Pradesh, while Odisha, Jharkhand, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and south interior Karnataka face low to moderate flash-flood risks.

Heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand through August 13, raising concerns over landslides and mudslides. Rajasthan is also likely to receive widespread rainfall, while northeastern states including Assam continue to battle severe flooding.
