A really cool 1980 Made in Japan Ibanez Model AR50 BK Artist guitar. These guitars were way ahead of their time and of course directed their sales efforts to the Gibson Players that couldn’t afford a real Double Cut Les Paul. They did a great job…wonderful guitars!

Ibanez made this model from 1979 only thru 1982. It's a shame they discontinuned it. Its an awesome guitar that looks super cool

The guitar is all original including the Case. Only the tuners were upgraded. More about that later. When we got the guitar, it had a Dimarzio installed in the bridge Pickup. Fortunately, the original owner kept the original Uncovered Maxon Super 70's Pickup in the case. We had Jeff the Tech reinstall it. Why would you change out that pickup. It sounds awesome. Happy to have it back in this incredible guitar.

This Curved Maple Top is over a Mahogony Body. The Black finish is still beautiful. Only a few dings and scratched from player wear. No cracks or damage to report. The Guitar plays as good as it looks. We had it Professionally setup with new 9’s and it has great awesome low playing action that very easy on the fingers. The knobs, pickguard, Tailpiece, bridge and wiring are original. It has the original Gibraltar Bridge and the Quik Change Ibanez Tailpiece. This is a really cool guitar. The guitar has a 24 3/4 inch scale neck with a nut that measures 1 3/4 inches. Big hands like the wider nut but it has a nice medium C profile.... The guitar weighs 9 lbs 4 ozs. Not quite as heavy as your Les Paul.... The guitar had the original tuners replaced with a great set of West Germany Schallers. We left those on. They are great tuners and huge upgrade from the originals. The original Tuner screw holes can still be seen on the back of the headstock. Hard to see so we left them alone. It has normal dings and scratches you would expect for a guitar that's 44 years old...but looks great!

The Pickups are a Super 70's in both the neck and the bridge. The pickups are huge sounding. Awesome Original Pickups that are thick and very musical!

The beautiful body is Curved Maple on the top of a Mahogany body and is finished in Black Beauty Shiny Black. Fully bound on both the body and neck. I especially like how the bindings have taken on a cool vintage look. They have a very golden shade from their original bright white when new. They look awesome. No indication of any coming loose anywhere on the guitar.

The upgraded tuners are West Germany Schaller Tuners. They have an extra screw attachment to hold your tuning fast. They are a very expensive upgraded tuner for this cool guitar. Check those pics.

The original case is still with this cool guitar. Check out that Avacado Green Plush interior. Just beautiful. This case is used but still in great shape. This hard shell case still has the original handle, latches and hinges. It will continue to protect your cool AR50 Artist Guitar for many many years. Check those pics!
