A Gift from L.L.Bean Supports the University of Southern Maine’s Portland Campus Transformation

Описание: The University of Southern Maine (USM) Foundation has received an $850,000 gift from L.L.Bean for the new, LEED certified, Career & Student Success Center (CSSC) on the University’s Portland campus. The gift includes $750,000 to create a one-acre green campus quad, to be named the Bean Green. The CSSC, Bean Green, and the adjacent Portland Commons residence hall, are all part of the largest and most sustainable construction project in USM’s history. Inside the CSSC, USM plans to name the first-floor gathering space, the Double L Fireside Lounge in recognition of L.L.Bean’s gift, which also includes $100,000 to permanently endow the L.L.Bean Environmental Scholarship at USM.
