According to Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, the National Education Policy (NEP) procedures to move forward the study of Mising, Tiwa, Rabha indigenous languages were intended to improve education in Assam. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and the Mising Agom Kebang worked together on this project to create 11 textbooks in the Mising language that are specifically designed for kids in pre-primary and primary school.
