In the state of Wisconsin, youth will age out of foster care at 18 years old. Aging out is the process which occurs when youth must leave the foster care system because they were never adopted and are too old to stay in care.
10thirtysix producer Maryann Lazarski takes a closer look at how one Milwaukee non-profit organization is trying to help some young men transition from foster care to independent adult living. You'll meet Michael, CJ and Patrick who share their journeys of being homeless, living in "the system" and dealing with mental health challenges and now being grateful to Bridge to Brighter putting them on the right path.
