Venue - NIT Jamshedpur
The selection process included 3 stages. Now the panel had arrived on 13th September and they decided to complete the PPT & first stage which was the Online test on the same very night.
Unfortunately I was suffering from cold that day .
7 o clock evening - PPT started and as usual the HR professional started interacting with a group of around 180 students (who were from Electrical , Mechanical, Electronics & Production Engineering) who were in the race. I fortunately was successful to grab the attention of the HR with my constant sneezing ;D & few smart question and answers (somehow managing my runny nose) .
My confidence level rose as I had already made my impact on the HR
9 o clock - We started with the written test and then again I faced another issue. My PC got disconnected from the network after I had already logged in for the test & I was called by the HR to sit beside him and take the test again after he reactivated the link for me. The written test had 2 sections (Aptitude + Technical). To be honest it was really difficult to deal with a running nose and solve Quants (L&T Ltd had the toughest aptitude test among all other companies I sat for) and I was quite sure that the HR was feeling pity on my condition.
5 o clock next morning -

I somehow got up to take a look at my cellphone (mentally prepared that I didn't qualify the online test).
The msg read : Shubhrajyoti Roy Shortlisted for GD(non-elimination round)
8 o clock - I reached our interview center before all eagerly waiting. Within a few mins a car with the panelists reached the venue. I graciously welcomed them all as there were no one else apart from the placement coordinators and me.
9 o clock - GD started with me & 9 more candidates & the assessment panel consisted of two senior L&T officials and the HR professional. Our topic was “A ship docked in harbor cannot face the storms”. I was able to perform well and I could see that the panel were impressed by my arguments .
Within a few mins I was called for the interview
9:30 a.m.- The interview started (It was a one to one interview)
I entered the room(happy to see that I already had two previous encounter with this gentleman before the interview)"
