Our Vande Bharat trainand all other trains on this route got cancelled at the last minute and we had to find a taxi to take us to Varanasi. We start from the peaceful lanes of Bodh Gaya — where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment — and drive through the rustic landscapes of Bihar, passing by small villages, green fields, and roadside dhabas.
As we move ahead, the highway opens up near Aurangabad and Dehri-on-Sone, where the grand Sone River bridge offers a breathtaking view. Crossing into Uttar Pradesh, the landscape slowly changes — the air feels different, the fields stretch wider, and you can sense the approach of the sacred city.
Finally, we reach Varanasi, the timeless city on the banks of the Ganga, where devotion, history, and life itself flow together.
