Economic Espionage Act Of 1996 - Notes
U.S. government in recognizing the importance of intellectual property implemented this law with two major provisions:
o If found guilty of stealing trade secrets for benefit of foreign government could be imprisoned up to 15 years or fined up half a million dollars.
o Just stealing trade secrets could be jailed for up to ten years.
