General Secretary of South African Communist Party Solly Mapaila says they have no intention of weakening the African National Congress (ANC) - rather their main task is to strengthen the party.
Mapaila was speaking at the SACP 5th Special National Congress under way in Boksburg. He rejected any relationship with the Democratic Alliance (DA).
Mapaila has also called for an inquest into Chirs Hani's assassination.
He says Hani's legacy will continue to guide the revolution in the struggle against racial oppression.
